Imperfect - The Sun with Loving LightEdited by Stephen Bloomquist
Illustrated by Pamela Dalton
Damaged/Imperfect - mildly out of kilter: a bent corner, a ruffled page or three, a spine with a dent, or a mark that ought not to be there. Final sale, no returns or exchanges. Quantities are limited.
This hard-bound, linen covered book comes to you rich with imagination from the first Waldorf school in Stuttgart, Germany, as it is a transliteration of the first reader, Der Sonne Licht. Many of these stories, poems and songs will find resonance in the hearts of parents, teachers, and former first, second, and third grade students in Waldorf schools throughout North America. Designed as a reader, it also holds wonderful resources for teachers and parents. The illustrations are Scherenschnitte, pictures from paper cuttings created by artist Pamela Dalton.
The hope is to have the book translated for Waldorf classrooms throughout the world; imagining a Der Sonne Licht in each classroom, grades one, two, and three, linking children, teachers, and parents, through the reading they do, to that first Waldorf school.
The Sun With Loving Light is an exquisite book, filled with songs, verses, poems, and stories worthy of early readers. Mom’s Choice Awards has recognized this book with a top-flight, GOLD award in the illustrated children’s book category.
