This collection of stories is the result of the author’s work to introduce children of the lower grades to the world of the Old Testament. Jakob Streit draws from various biblical sources and apocryphal texts to provide rich pictures and a colorful depiction of the stories, while being thoroughly true to the sources. Out of the oral tradition, these stories bring in legendary form a concise, biblical report that is poetically and mythologically accessible for the developing child from ages 8–10.
