Der Sonne Licht

Caroline von Heydebrand

$18.00

Caroline von Heydebrand was one of the original teachers in the first Waldorf School in Stuttgart, Germany, a school begun in 1919 for the children of the workers in the Waldorf-Astoria cigarette factory, and which soon became a school for all children. Ms. Heydebrand assembled stories, poems, songs, and verses for the children in the first three grades to use as a reader, and she called the book Der Sonne Licht. It was used by Waldorf schools for many years and then went out of print. A former Waldorf student discovered the book, recognized it as his own reader in first grade, and was moved to have it updated a little and reprinted. Beautifully designed and bound, the book links us to the first Waldorf School—wonderful for German teachers in North America!
